The Truth About Beauty
The beauty of truth is that it's unchanging. The truth about beauty is that it's about to change at any moment. The time limit at beauty's core provides the contrast necessary to see it at all. A trine to Venus highlights the temporary nature of beauty, which can be spotted in blossoms and babies, in clouds and encounters. Cherish it while it lasts, and because it doesn't.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Distance is the measure of all connections. It takes both closeness and space to balance a relationship -- something to think about before you bridge the gaps. You want to be attached but not overlapping.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Even if you start from a place of open curiosity, no set direction or plan, you'll still accomplish quite a lot today. The world will give you a destination and all the leadership you need to get there.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Makeovers are inspiring. Transformations are fascinating. Improvements are a delightful watch. Whatever changes you observe today, part of you will change right along with the process.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Keep your message broad, and it will speak to many; keep it narrow, and it will speak deeply to a few. Both are valuable, but you need to choose because the middle ground doesn't have the edge necessary to cut through the noise.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Cultural moments pass, but universal truths last. Tap into something bigger than yourself, and your work will resonate long after the moment fades. Only then can you create work that challenges, surprises and continues to speak.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You've known yourself to strive for a pure heart, clear mind and devout soul. You've also known yourself not to worry about it. Whichever way feels best to you is perfectly fine. There's nothing that must be decided today. Just be.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). What you've done in the past is powerful, but don't let it haunt your future. The need to outdo yourself can stifle creativity. Release the pressure to live up to old standards, and trust your natural unfolding.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). It is suggested that everything that follows the pronoun "I" is an illusion. At first, it will be hard to believe this is true, but toy with the idea further and it will become a source of wonder and liberation.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Cooperation that's forced is called control. The same goes for compromise that's nonnegotiable and any offer you can't refuse. Language doesn't fool you. You're vigilant and agile, and you anticipate and avoid trouble.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Not every season is one of growth, but each has its value. If you push for continual expansion, you may lose the depth of reflection needed to fuel the next creative leap. Honor the quieter times; they nourish the work that will come.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Getting it right is overrated. Any robot can do it. Don't make that your goal. Explore your humanity instead. Give yourself permission to be messy and unsure. It's the willingness to remain curious and unfinished that counts.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Just as the sculptor chips away at everything that's not the sculpture, and the detective assesses the lies and cover-ups to get to the truth, you will determine your heart's desire by trying out a lot that is decidedly not it.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 23). Love in a wide array of forms will run through your heart, sometimes several versions in the same relationship. You'll revel in happiness that is always updating, never the same twice. More highlights: Debts repaid, kindnesses forwarded. You'll give another the very thing you once wished for, a beautiful act of selflessness that brings astounding good fortune. Libra and Leo adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 27, 44, 48, 32 and 1.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Like a Sagittarius, Miley Cyrus makes an art out of challenging norms and expectations. The pursuit of freedom and ideals has driven her from Hannah Montana to "Bangerz," and into songs like "Flowers," returning to her roots of self-empowerment and resilience. Her natal moon, Mercury and Pluto are in Scorpio, and the sign of transformation is evident in her powers of reinvention as she continuously evolves within the pop culture landscape.
