SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Kings star De’Aaron Fox has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.
Fox and his wife, Recee, recently welcomed their second child into the world. He is closing in on a potential supermax contract extension and Under Armour’s Curry Brand is about to release his first new signature shoe.
Fox gave back to the community as part of the Kings’ 23rd annual Season of Doing Good on Tuesday when he joined rookie guard Devin Carter in serving Thanksgiving dinners to Sacramento families. In addition, Kings center Domantas Sabonis donated 35,000 boxes of food to the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services to support families in need.
Fox delivered dinner boxes filled with nonperishable food items and $100 Raley’s gift cards to families associated with Open Doors, a nonprofit organization that assists immigrants, refugees and trafficking survivors as they get acclimated to the community. Carter hosted a dinner and distributed food boxes, providing support to more than 100 people from the Simmons Community Center, a nonprofit group dedicated to create a safe and nurturing environment for Sacramento youth through mentorship, sports and essential services.
The Kings will continue their Season of Doing Good on Wednesday when they partner with Raley’s to host “Eat Like a King” at Golden 1 Center. Kings players and coaches will engage with more than 150 people from several nonprofits while hosting a holiday themed festival at the arena.
Fox signed a deal with Under Armour’s Curry Brand in October 2023, becoming the first athlete other than Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry to get a signature shoe with the brand. Fox’s first signature shoe, the Curry Fox 1, will hit the shelves on Dec. 6.
The shoe is low-cut and runner-esque with a mid-foot strap. The logo features a distinctive symbol with a fox curled up to form the letter D.
Curry’s last name appears on the lace tips and toe. The shoe will also feature Under Armour’s proprietary Flow cushioning foam, similar to the full-length Flow platform in Curry’s own signature shoe.
