Warriors announce plans to celebrate 10-year anniversary of 2014-15 championship

Fresh off hosting an All-Star Game that celebrated the most important member of the Warriors’ dynasty, Stephen Curry, the team will pay tribute to the remaining cast members during its first homestand out of the break.

Players from the 2014-15 team will be on hand Feb. 25 to honor the 10-year anniversary of the NBA title that kicked off their run that produced four Larry O’Brien trophies in the span of seven seasons, the Warriors announced Tuesday.

The celebration will take place at halftime of their game against the Charlotte Hornets, two nights after the organization retires the No. 9 jersey of Andre Iguodala, who earned Finals MVP in 2015 and helped Golden State to two other titles in 2017 and 2022. That ceremony is set for Sunday night, with the Mavericks and Klay Thompson in the building.

While Thompson won’t be able to attend the festivities later in the week, the organization said Festus Ezeli, Shaun Livingston, Brandon Rush and Marreese Speights would be among the players from the 2015 team in attendance. They will receive a special on-court recognition at halftime, and the team has interactive activities planned for fans on the big board throughout the game.

Triumphing 4-2 over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 2015 squad captured the franchise’s first championship in 40 years — its fourth overall — and proved to be the start of a dynasty that resulted in three more championship parades and six NBA Finals appearances.
