NEW YORK — Two-time WNBA MVP and three-time champion Breanna Stewart underwent a successful minor scope on her right meniscus on Thursday, sources told the New York Daily News.

The star is expected back on the court at the start of training camp, which begins on April 27, per sources.

“Small thing to a giant,” said in a post on Stewart’s Instagram. The post showed the 6-4 Olympian in a hospital bed throwing up the peace sign.

“might or might not retire the leg sleeve but definitely getting rid of all that tape, iykyk.

“S/o to the gang getting me through unrivaled and Dr. Weber for getting me right.

“See you in the W.”

Upon return, Stewart hopes to lead the Liberty to its second-ever WNBA title in franchise history. Stewart and WNBA Finals MVP Jonquel Jones led the Liberty to its first title in 2024 after defeating the Minnesota Lynx, 3-2, in a thrilling five-game series.

Stewart recently wrapped up the inaugural season of Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 league she co-founded with Lynx star Naphessa Collier. Stewart appeared in all 14 games for the Mist while averaging 19.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

The Liberty will begin the quest for back-to-back WNBA titles against A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces on May 17 at Barclays Center.
